Below is a listing of the different electric rate types:
City Residential
- Single-phase 120/240-volt service for general lighting and appliance service for single residences and apartments within the corporate limits of the City.
- Minimum bill shall be the customer charge of $9.27 per month.
Rural Residents and Farms
- Single-phase or three-phase service for general lighting and appliance service for single rural residences and farms.
- Minimum bill shall be the customer charge of $21.63 per month.
All Electric
- Single-phase 120/240 volt of electric service for single residences or apartments, which do not use any combustible fuel. Apartments may be metered separately or combined on one meter by the building owner, but sub-metering is not permitted. Available where demand does not exceed capacity available at the location.
- Minimum bill shall be the customer charge of $9.27 per month.
Commercial Lighting and Small Power
- Single-phase or three-phase four-wire lighting and small power service fro commercial establishments limited to the maximum motor size of twenty-five (25)hp. Where 3-phase service is available, single-phase motor size is limited to twenty-five (25) hp. Where single phase service only is available, motor size is limited to five (5) hp with a maximum total of fifteen (15) hp.
- Minimum bill shall be the customer charge of $30.90 per month.
Large Power and Lighting (100-1,000 kW)
- Three-phase 4-wire power and lighting service where the fifteen (15) minute kilowatt demands exceed 100 kW or motor size exceeds twenty five (25) hp.
- Minimum bill: The minimum monthly bill shall be fifty percent of the highest monthly billing kilowatt demand established in any month during the twelve (12) months ending with the current month times the demand charge plus the customer charge and energy charges.
Rates are also available for Large Power/Lighting (1,000 – 5,000 kW), Large Industrial Power (>5,000 kW), Water Heater, Space Heating, Security Lighting, Public Use and Street Lights, Interdepartmental, and Central Iowa Power Coop.
