The City of Pella offers many different rental options whether it is for a private party at the aquatic center, an event at the Memorial Building or a Park shelter rental. Community gardens plots are available for rent. View the Guidelines & Plot Rental Agreement for more information. The installation of the gardens in 2012 was made possible thanks to financial contributions from the Leighton State Bank, Marion County Bank, Pella Business Women Club, and Pella Kiwanis Club.
The City of Pella rents out a variety of games and ice skates for 1 or more days at various prices plus a deposit of $30. This includes Bean Bag Toss, Bocee, Broomball, Dodge Balls, Fishing Poles, Flag Football Belts, Gunny Sacks, Ice Skates, Kickball, Ladder Golf, Pickleball Equipment, 4 Square Balls and a Snow Cone Machine. The Pella Community Center provides a meeting place for many groups and families. Meeting room 206 can seat up to 90 people and is available for $22 per hour for a resident or $27 per hour for a non-resident. View the rental agreement for more information.
All shelters may be reserved anytime during the year, but restroom facilities may be closed from October through April. Shelters are available from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm or from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Rental fees are $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents per time slot. Reservations are accepted by submitting the Shelter Rental Form (PDF) and fee to the Pella Park, 712 Union Street, Suite 104, Pella, IA 50219, or online at: https://cityofpella.activityreg.com/ClientPage_t2.wcs or by calling 641-628-4571.
Events held in the Molengracht or Klokkenspel plaza areas require a special application.
Events open to the general public may also require a Special Event Permit through the City Clerk's Office in addition to rental applications through the Community Services Office.
The Pella Memorial Building is located at 829 Broadway Street. It is a great location for a family reunion, graduation party, garage sale or craft show. The meeting room is 48x48 with a maximum capacity of 154 people. There are 138 chairs, 30 8’ tables and a small kitchen area. Rental hours are 6:00am to 10:00pm.
