Research & Search Engines
Search engines are a fine place to start a search of the internet, but often the results are unsatisfactory. Besides, the internet isn't the only place to find information. The library is a great place to start your search.  The Heritage Room contains many resources for local, county, and state research.

  • See our online database links for general and specialized databases, including genealogy, health and wellness, and more.
  • Use Iowa Locator or WorldCat to find books, CDs, DVDs, and other items in libraries.
  • Check out our Digital Collections site to view scanned historical documents and photographs from the Library collection!
  • The Heritage Room has a collection of local history, including family histories, yearbooks, cemetery records, and back issues of the Pella Chronicle on microfilm.
  • Look through our Historical Archives - a selection of magazines, newspapers, and other primary-source media documenting historical events as they unfolded.
Iowa Heritage Project and Iowa Publications Online can help you dig deep into all things Iowa.
