The Pella Fire Department is a volunteer department and currently has 27 members. The department responded to 146 fire calls in 2004 both within the city and in rural areas. The department is located at the Public Safety Complex and has one equipment truck and three fire trucks including a 1999 Pierce 100 ft. aerial platform ladder truck.
