Library events for adults in June

June 3 at 6:30 p.m.:  Meet local author Sheryl Carter. Sheryl is the author of two novels (The Quiet Road and The House on Cadron Creek), as well as Tales of a Southern Iowa Farm Girl, a collection of essays and short stories.  Books will be available for sale and signing.


June 4 at 7:00 p.m.: Conversations in Spanish: Native and non-native Spanish speakers are invited to gather for casual conversation in Spanish.


June 11 at 7:00 p.m.: Sprint Car Racing: History and Stories:  Bob Baker from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum will talk about how Sprint Car Racing began and share stories and mementos from the museum.  


June 17 at 11:00 a.m.: Conversations in Spanish: Native and non-native Spanish speakers are invited to gather for casual conversation in Spanish.


June 20 at 10:15 a.m.:  Genealogy Club meeting. Jan Van Weelden will demonstrate OpenArchives Netherlands and WieWasWie.


June 26 at 12:00 noon: Relay Iowa. Learn about communication services offered to assist those who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or those who have difficulty speaking.  Light refreshments will be offered. Registration is required.  


June 27 at 12:00 noon:  Brown Bag Book Club in the meeting room. Call the library for the book title to be discussed.


June 28 at 11:00 a.m.:  Dutch Oven Cooking Demonstration. Marlyn Hoksbergen, a seasoned Dutch oven cook, will share tips for preparing a variety of yummy meals in a Dutch oven and share samples.
